The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Juno joined the cast of “Maleficent“.
Juno Temple is joining the cast of Maleficent, Disney’s live-action retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale.
Angelina Jolie is playing the title character in the fantasy that tells the story from the point of view of the fairy-witch who cursed Aurora to a permanent sleep on her 16th birthday. Robert Stromberg is directing.
Elle Fanning already is on board as Aurora and Sharlto Copley is Stefan, the half-human and half-fairy bastard son of the human king. Also in the cast are Imelda Staunton (Vera Drake), Miranda Richardson (Harry Potter), Kenneth Cranham (Made in Dagenham), Sam Riley (Brighton Rock) and Lesley Manville (Another Year).
Temple would join Staunton and Manville as the three pixie fairies in the classic fairy tale who are tasked with taking care of Aurora in the cottage in the woods. Temple will play Thistletwit, who — like the other pixies, Knotgrass and Flittle — is neglectful and superficial.
The movie is shooting this summer in London.
Temple, repped by UTA and Troika, will appear in this summer’s Batman sequel, The Dark Knight Rises, and is one of the stars of William Friedkin’s Killer Joe, which just screened at the Cannes Film Festival. She recently wrapped Magic Magic opposite Michael Cera and Emily Browning. Source
The first official trailer for “Killer Joe” was released earlier this week. You can watch the trailer below, and we also added the high definition screen captures in our gallery.
Deadline is reporting that Juno, Nicolas Cage and Johnny Knoxville joined the road movie “Wilde Side“. It’s directed by Jesse Baget. Sounds like yet another excited upcoming project for Juno!
Nicolas Cage, Juno Temple and Johnny Knoxville will star in Wild Side, a road trip drama to be directed by Jesse Baget from a script he wrote with Stefania Moscato. Zero Gravity Management’s Mark Holder and Christine Holder are producing and financing with Hollywood Media Bridge’s Phillip B. Goldfine and Oak Street Films. Arclight Films is selling international and Lionsgate is handling domestic. Shooting begins July 23 in Louisiana.
The story follows a small-town Southern beauty queen (Temple) who is on the run from a ruthless killer (Cage) determined to retrieve diamonds he stole during a murderous heist. Lila Belle Clyde, who walks away with the loot, is a former beauty queen who wants to get away from New Orleans. To do that, she needs to elude authorities, a dogged news reporter, and Odel, a self-described wolf determined to hunt her down and recover his swag. Baget most recently directed Breathless with Gina Gershon, Kelli Giddish, Ray Liotta and Val Kilmer. Anchor Bay will release. Source
The first official poster for “Jack & Diane” was released. We added the high quality poster in our gallery. You can also watch the first movie clip of the movie below. The movie will have an Apple Panel at Tribeca Film Festival tomorrow. Juno isn’t part of the panel, go for more information to our previous post.
The movie will get a limited release June 1st of this year.
“Killer Joe” to open Open Edinburgh International Film Festival
“Killer Joe” will open the Open Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Filmmaker thanks Scottish festival for programming uncut version which stars Matthew McConaughey and Juno Temple.
LONDON – William Friedkin’s Killer Joe, starring Matthew McConaughey and Juno Temple, will kickstart this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF), organizers said Wednesday.
Friedkin’s movie, billed as a “shockingly cool and blackly comic noir thriller” by Edinburgh’s programmers, also stars Emile Hirsch, Gina Gershon and Thomas Haden Church in a tale of a drug dealer, a hit man and a plot to kill the dealer’s own mother for insurance.
Friedkin issued a swipe at the Motion Picture Association of America in thanking Edinburgh’s organizers for scheduling his film.
Friedkin said: “I would also like to thank the Edinburgh International Film Festival for honoring our film with this screening, uncut. Of a film the Motion Picture Association of America has expressed a desire to censor.”
The movie got an NC-17 rating in the U.S. despite appeals made by the filmmakers and LD Entertainment.
Distributed here by Entertainment One UK, the gala will mark the U.K. premiere for Freidkin’s picture.
EIFF artistic director Chris Fujiwara said: “For my first year as artistic director, I intend to deliver a diverse program that will spotlight filmmaking of real artistic distinction. William Friedkin’s exhilarating, intense, and brilliantly crafted film is absolutely in keeping with this ambition.”
Friedkin and cast are expected in the Scottish capital for the gala before the movie rolls out nationwide June 29.
The 66th edition of the EIFF runs June 20 July 1 2012 and closes with the European premiere of Disney-Pixar’s Brave on June 30. Source
We reported before that “Jack and Diane” was selected for the Tribeca Film Festival 2012. It was recently announced that the movie will have an Apple Store Panel and not a premiere.
Director Bradley Rust Gray and Riley Keough will be part of the panel. Juno is currently filming her upcoming movie “Magic Magic” so we assume that’s why she isn’t part of the panel. The panel is Free, and will be held on Saturday, April 21, 6:00 p.m. at the Apple Store-14th St in New York. For more information about the panel go to Apple.com or TribecaFilm.com.
